While relatively few BYU students graduate and enter professional golf careers, countless BYU grads have discovered golf during their college years and pursued it throughout their lives. If you are a golf enthusiast, you are in luck. Utah County has some of the best golfing found anywhere.

A good course for a beginning golfer is Cascade Golf club in Orem located at 1313 East 800 North. From Villa Rose Apartments, travel north on University Avenue to the mouth of Provo Canyon. Turn left on 800 North. Cascade Golf Course is just up the hill on the right.

Beautiful Hobble Creek Golf course is located a few miles up Hobble Creek Canyon in the town of Springville, a small town directly south of Provo.

Hobble Creek Golf Course is an absolutely breathtaking place to play a round in the fall when the leaves are in full color.

If you haven’t ventured far from Provo, it is time to check out the west side of Utah Lake. TalonsCove Golf Club is located northwest of Provo at 2412 South Redwood Road in the town of Saratoga Springs. The Ranches Golf Course is in nearby Eagle Mountain at 4128 East Clubhouse Lane.

Welcome To Beautiful Utah Valley!

As a BYU student, you are probably aware of much of what is offered on campus. However, the university isn’t the only place for entertainment, art, and recreation. Thanksgiving Point includes the Museum of Ancient Life, a 3-D Theatre, one of the finest golf courses in the country, several restaurants and unique shops. Villa Rose Apartments #1 for BYU Cougars

Tuesday, April 12th, 2011

Provo Apartments Here is some Villa Rose Apartments BYU Trivia:

Q: In what year did the Cougar football team complete a perfect season and win the National Championship?

A: 1984. Since there was no official championship game at the time, the number one team was determined by polls. The Cougars polled #1 for much of the season and remained in the top spot at the end. However, BYU’s win was the subject of much national controversy. Sportscaster Bryant Gumbel, who didn’t think BYU deserved the top spot, called BYU “Bo Diddly Tech.”

Brigham Young University athletic teams have enjoyed a number of remarkable seasons. BYU students appreciate the opportunity to attend exciting football, basketball, and baseball games during their time here. It is fun for BYU grads to follow the professional careers of Cougar players they watched during their college years.

Villa Rose Apartments has provided housing for many proud BYU Cougars. If you need a place to call home while you attend the Y, we invite you to visit us at Villa Rose Apartments. You can find us at 131 South 200 East in Provo. If you are new to Provo, we assure you that Villa Rose Apartments is located in one of the most desirable areas of town. Villa Rose Apartments Provo Apartments Today’s Villa Rose Apartments blog takes a fond look back to 2002 when Salt Lake City hosted the Winter Olympics. If you were not living in Utah then, you might have a hard time imagining how exciting the Olympics were for BYU students. Whether they followed the competitions on a big screen TV in the game room of their BYU approved apartments or left Provo to attend live events, BYU students made the most of this once-in-a-lifetime celebration.

Many venues were built for the games including the Utah Olympic Park. If you are new to BYU and love winter sports, you may want to visit the Utah Olympic Park in Park City, Utah.

The Utah Olympic Park hosted bobsleigh, luge, skeleton, ski jumping and nordic combined events during the 2002 games. It is now a center for Olympic athletes and young Olympians-in-training. The park includes a ski jump, bobsled track, the 2002 Winter Olympic Museum, aerial training splash pool, a mountain coaster and ziplines. www.utah.com/olympics/utah_olympic_park.htm

To get to the Utah Olympic Park from Villa Rose Apartments, take North University Avenue/US 198 through Provo Canyon to Heber City. From Heber, travel north to Park City. The Utah Olympic Park is located at 3419 Olympic Parkway.

BYU Apartment Reviews For Villa Rose Apartments

Tuesday, March 1st, 2011

BYU Approved Housing in Provo I was reading BYU student housing reviews recently and came across some positive comments about the Villa Rose Apartments family of BYU student apartments.

The first is from a student who lived here from 2007 – 2008.

“I love living there! The tenants are fun and there is always something to do…The management and office ladies are great and ALWAYS willing to work with you if you need ANYTHING! They even plan a lot of parties, including basketball tournaments, which I love!” http://www.apartmentratings.com

Here is another:

“I stayed here for an entire year, and I’d have to say that the pros outweigh the cons…the management is AMAZING! They’re concerned about keeping their residents happy which is a rare find here in Provo… it’s a very welcoming atmosphere. Oh, and two words: free parking (and lots of it).” http://www.apartmentratings.com

Don’t take our word for it. Trust the former students who left these positive comments about living at Villa Rose Apartments in Provo.

Choose Villa Rose Apartments

Affordable Provo Student Housing Are you a new BYU freshman? The first year away from home is full of new experiences. Former BYU students have a lot of advice for incoming freshman. Here are a few suggestions:

  • Get involved in student life. BYU offers clubs, dances, recreation and service opportunities. There are plenty of worthwhile things to do and fellow students to meet.
  • Sit near the front of the class. This sounds simple, but it will certainly help your grades.
  • Learn how to manage your time—the sooner the better. This valuable habit will allow you to accomplish great things in college and in the Real World.
  • Live near campus. Proximity to BYU campus benefits you in numerous ways.

Villa Rose Apartments provides affordable  housing conveniently located just a few blocks from BYU. Our residents can easily participate in BYU student activities but have more space and privacy than students who live in the dorms.

We offer 1 Bed/1bath and 2 bed/ 1 bath apartments. You don’t have to walk to campus for everything. We provide close to BYU and Internet on-site. See http://villaroseapts.com/ for photos of all of our amenities.

Villa Rose Apartments

Tuesday, January 18th, 2011

Are you a new or returning BYU undergrad faced with this important choice? Here are some things to consider as you make your decision:

Privacy: Villa Rose Apartments in Provo provides more privacy than any of the BYU student dorms. You won’t be sharing a bathroom and common area with every Provo BYU student on your floor.

Flexibility: Villa Rose Apartments offers several bed/bath setups. You can choose to have your own room or share it with a roommate. You can prepare your meals in your spacious kitchen or eat on campus. Most BYU residence halls do not have kitchens so you are forced to eat in the cafeteria for every meal.

For convenience and flexibility, Villa Rose Apartments is the clear winner.

Location: BYU dorms usually win out on this point. However, BYU contracted Villa Rose Apartments is so close to BYU campus that the difference is negligible. Villa Rose Apartments is also close to Kiwanis, Wendy’s, Friday’s, and Brigham Young University football.

Cost: See http://villaroseapts.com/ for Villa Rose Apartments contract information. The price for BYU off campus housing varies depending on the unit layout and roommate situation though, in most cases, Villa Rose Apartments is less expensive in the long run. Remember, BYU married student housing, close to BYU, and Internet are included free of charge.

I am Villa Rose Apartments manager Kelley Apple. I would love to show you around our friendly community of Provo student apartments. Stop by Villa Rose Apartments anytime, no appointment necessary. We are located at 131 South 200 East. The office number is 801-377-7693 for Villa Rose Apartments
