Today in our BYU housing blog we want to provide some study tips for all of the hard working students living in Provo off campus housing. Although it goes without saying, any good study plan should start with regular class attendance, organization, and note taking.

While many BYU students find it useful to discover what ‘type’ of learner they are, make sure not to pigeonhole yourself into one set of study techniques. Different subject material may require you to change study tactics.

Don’t rule out old-school study drills such as flashcards, they still help out a lot when Provo BYU students have facts to memorize.

Studying usually is most effective for BYU apartment residents when it is spread out into smaller sessions throughout the day, or when short breaks are taken every 15-20 minutes.

Make sure to take advantage of the various BYU campus resources such as labs, tutors, and teaching assistants.

And don’t forget that it’s important for all students in the Provo area to take care of themselves by eating a healthy, natural diet, getting enough sleep, exercising, and effectively managing stress.

Todays Villa Rose Apartments blog features Fiesta Days in Spanish Fork. Spanish Fork is located about 10 miles south of Provo. From Villa Rose Apartments travel south the Center Street and west to I-15. From I-15 travel south ten miles to exit 257, turn left onto UT-156 N. Main Street and continue south to the fairgrounds at 475 S. Main Street.

The highlight of Fiesta Days is four nights of professional rodeo action. If you haven’t been to a rodeo in a while you are in for a real treat. See one-ton bulls, bucking broncs, and cowboys and cowgirls competing in bareback bronc riding, team roping, steer wrestling, saddle bronc riding, and bull riding.

Fiesta Days is held in July every year and also features a carnival, trailer race, golf tournament, western heritage parade, and craft fair. The popular fish rodeo lets kids catch fish in a 1000 square foot pond stocked with over 500 fish.

For this reason, all single undergraduates are required to live in BYU-contracted housing in Provo. The goal of the administration is that the off-campus environment is as conducive to high moral standards as the campus environment.

Since BYU does not have nearly enough on-campus housing for all of its single college students, it relies on the Provo community to provide appropriate housing facilities.

For off-campus Provo student apartments to become BYU-approved, the owners mush complete an application process and commit to abide by the BYU Housing office standards.
