Throughout the year there are countless festivals and celebrations in the Provo area that BYU students living in Villa Rose Apartments apartments can enjoy. BYU students can celebrate this great country of ours at the Provo Freedom Festival. This is one of America’s premier patriotic celebrations and its roots can be traced back to the 1870s!

The signature event of the Freedom Festival is the Stadium of Fire, which is held in Provo’s own LaVell Edwards Stadium.

If you are not in Provo during the summer, you can still participate in other Freedom Festival events throughout the year such as historical tours, Veterans Day celebrations, contests, and parades. The Storytelling Festival is held each year on Labor Day weekend at Mt. Timpanogos Park in Provo Canyon. Great storytellers come from all over the world to recreate the craft of storytelling. BYU has a great sports tradition, and many professional players are BYU graduates. Steve Young, Jim McMahon, and Ty Detmer have had successful NFL careers, and Jimmer Fredette is expected to be a strong player for the Kings in his first NBA season.
